PVR INOX Swings to ₹56.5 Crore Quarterly Profit as Cinema Spending Rises
PVR INOX is making money again because more people are going to the movies and spending money. The big chain of movie theaters said they made a profit of 56.5 crores for the April to June 2026 period. That is much better than year when they lost 54.5 crores. This means they made a lot money than they did a year ago. The numbers show that people are going back, to the theaters and they are spending money on movie tickets, snacks and drinks.

PVR INOX Returns to Profit in Q1 FY27
PVR INOX had a quarter. The money that PVR INOX made went up by 12 percent compared to the time last year. In the June 2026 quarter PVR INOX made ₹1,622.2 crore. PVR INOX got a total of ₹1,648.3 crore.

Audience admissions went up to 36.6 million from 34 million. The occupancy rate improved to 25.3 percent. The average ticket price at PVR INOX went up to ₹273 from ₹254 year. That is an increase of 8 percent. The revenue from tickets was ₹837.2 crore. This is more than the ₹722.6 crore they made year. So the ticket revenue grew by 16 percent. People were willing to pay more for PVR INOX tickets because they wanted to see films and have a better experience, at the cinema. The higher prices and premium formats also helped. People wanted cinema experiences and popular films at PVR INOX.

Online Bookings Supported Convenience-Fee Growth
PVR INOX reported strong growth in convenience-fee income, rising nearly 29% to ₹61.9 crore from ₹48.1 crore. Online booking penetration increased to 68.8%. Higher admissions, ticket prices and digital usage drove gains. The company sees app and website monetisation as a key opportunity for future revenue growth.
PVR INOX Becomes Net-Cash Positive
PVR INOX reported a positive net-cash position, with ₹631.6 crore in cash exceeding ₹550.9 crore debt, resulting in ₹80.7 crore net cash. This marks a sharp turnaround from ₹1,430 crore net debt in 2023, improving financial flexibility despite ongoing risks from box-office volatility and streaming competition.
PVR INOX Plans to Add More Screens
PVR INOX had 1,779 screens in 113 cities in India and Sri Lanka by June 2026. PVR INOX wants to add 90 to 100 screens in FY27 through asset-light partnerships. The presence of PVR INOX in metro cities and smaller cities helps increase access to multiplexes.
